Luna
juvenile Olive Ridley turtle (RB.LO.130), admitted 16 February 2018, Six Senses, Laamu Atoll, Maldives
Weight: 303g (upon admission);
Length: 13cm (upon admission);
Luna was found floating on the ocean surface close to Six Senses Laamu (Laamu Atoll). She had a plastic bag wrapped around her front left flipper, causing a deep wound.
She was admitted to our Centre on 16 February, and was soon eating and swimming around the recovery pool with Snoopy. We are hoping that Luna will recover from her injuries for a quick release back into the wild.

24 February 2018
Luna’s flipper became swollen and infected, so she was transferred to the Olive Ridley Project’s expert veterinary team at Coco. X-ray photographs did not reveal any bone fracture. She was treated with antibiotics and pain killers.
25 April 2018 – Release Day !
Thanks to the Olive Ridley Project’s expert veterinary team at Coco for the FB photos and video. Bon voyage, little Luna. 🙂
