Snoopy
juvenile Olive Ridley turtle (RB.LO.128), admitted 13 February 2018, Six Senses, Laamu Atoll, Maldives
Weight/Length: 724g/16.2cm (upon admission); 1.0kg/18.0cm (Mar); 2.6kg/25.5cm (Oct); 2.8kg/26.5cm on release
This small juvenile Olive Ridley turtle was found by Six Senses Laamu (Laamu Atoll) entangled in a net (with Eddy) on 13 February, and was sent to us for care.
He had to undergo an amputation of the left front flipper as it was severely damaged from the entanglement. He is already diving after food and getting stronger by the day, so we hope he will be healthy for release very soon.

March 2018
Snoopy’s amputation is healing nicely, and he is learning to move around with just 3 flippers. He sleeps next to Ranee and rests on top of her at the bottom of the pool. Snoopy has a personality that everyone loves … a turtle with a lot of attitude!
May 2018
Little Snoopy is the cute one of the family! He is diving and eating from the bottom of the pool, so we are hoping for a speedy recovery to release him back to the wild.

September-October 2018
Snoopy is active, healthy and increasing in confidence. He is diving and able to eat food from the bottom of the pool, so we hope to release him in the near future.

4 November 2018 … Release Day !
Snoopy was successfully returned to the ocean today. After a few moments of orientation to decide where he wanted to go, he quickly swam away and disappeared into the blue. Bon voyage, little guy!
