Eddy Rescue Turtle

female Olive Ridley turtle (RB.LO.129), admitted 13 February 2018, Six Senses, Laamu Atoll, Maldives

 

Weight: 18.2kg (upon admission);
Length: 51.3cm (upon admission);

This female Olive Ridley turtle was found by Six Senses Laamu (Laamu Atoll) entangled in a net (with Snoopy) on 13 February, and was sent to us for care.
Eddy has injuries on her front flippers and plastron, but with some treatment and rehabilitation we hope she will be eligible for release in the coming months. She already is accepting food and is happy to rest at the bottom of her pool.

Eddy’s wounds are healing, and looking much better. She is diving and resting at the bottom of the pool. Once her injuries are completely healed we will release her back into the wild.

30 May 2018 … Release Day !

Eddy was successfully released back into the ocean today, after 3 months of successful rehabilitation at our Centre.
