Luo MaRescue Turtle

Luo Ma (RB.LO.076) juvenile Olive Ridley, admitted 18-Aug-15, released 11-Sept-15

On 18 August, some of our guests were kayaking when they spotted a stranded juvenile Olive Ridley turtle on a sand bank close to the Resort. Our marine biologists assisted in rescuing the turtle and transported it back to our Rehabilitation Centre for further evaluation.
Luo Ma was found to be in overall good condition, and was treated for minor dehydration and lacerations caused by entanglement in a drifting ghost fishing net. After a few weeks of wound care and a good diet at our Centre, the turtle made a full recovery and was successfully released back into the ocean on 11 September.
