Lily Rescue Turtle

juvenile Olive Ridley turtle (RB.LO.134), 11 July 2018, Angsana Velavaru, Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives

Weight / Length: 13.2kg / 51.2cm (upon admission); 11.6kg / 50.7cm (Sept-18);

Lily was found floating near Angsana Velavaru (Dhaalu Atoll) and was rescued by staff members of the resort. This juvenile Olive Ridley has a missing flipper (front left) from an old injury, and some carapace injuries most probably caused by a ghost net rubbing against the shell.
Lily is very active, and we are expecting to release her when the injuries are totally healed and she can dive properly to catch her own food.
