Malé Hatchlings

Green Turtle Hatchlings, nest #N043, admitted 27 June 2019, Malé, Maldives

CM.159 – Grouchy  – 28g/5.4cm; deceased.
CM.160 – Munchkin – 25g/5.4cm; deceased.

Admitted on 27 June, these tiny Green turtle hatchlings were sent to us from Malé, where they were being kept as pets. They have several mildly infected bites, but are otherwise active – feeding and diving in their tub.

Updates September

Sadly, Munchkin was found unresponsive in his pool on 14 September. A subsequent necropsy revealed an overgrown heart.

Grouchy was later found unresponsive on 22 September. A subsequent necropsy revealed infection and blocked intestine.
