Nautica is the first green sea turtle patient we have received this year. She washed up on the beach at Kuda Villingili (North Malé Atoll) and was brought to us the same day.

Nautica arrived at our sea turtle rescue centre at Kuda Huraa with a missing back right flipper and with significant damage to the rear portion of her carapace. She was immediately put on antibiotics to prevent infection, and given a freshwater bath and IV for rehydration.

Nautica is very lethargic, so we have been feeding her small portions of honey to provide some much-needed energy. We debrided her wounds and are treating them with antiseptic gel. Her eye ulcers are being treated with eye ointment.
