We have news from our turtle ‘Head Start’ programme, and read about our expansion plans at Kuda Huraa.
We also say goodbye to Jesse, our latest Olive Ridley rescue turtle, pulled free from a drifting ‘ghost net’ and treated at our Landaa Giraavaru centre for a punctured carapace.

August was another busy month for our turtle rescue teams, and our facilities are stretched to capacity.
We had the release of 2 rehabilitated turtles, as well as the rescue of 2 more patients found entangled in discarded fishing ‘ghost nets’.
