During the first few weeks of April, we encountered an incredible total of THIRTEEN Olive Ridley turtles, found entangled in ghost fishing nets.
Thankfully, after checking carefully for injuries, most of these turtles were soon returned to the sea, with just 3 injured animals requiring further treatments and in our Centre.

Our turtle conservation teams have had a busy start to the year. We’ve been looking for new turtle nests on a remote beach, and have welcomed 12 new hatchlings into our Head Start Programme.
The health of our rescued residents also continues to improve, as we refine our medical care techniques.
