Another busy month for our teams, both above and below the waves. Firstly, you can witness the reefs bursting with colour during the annual coral spawning event, and then join us for a sunset dolphin-spotting excursion.
Then say hello to our new turtle patients Nemo & Zi, before waving a fond farewell to Vick, released after more than 1 year of recuperation at our Turtle Rescue Centre.
We take our turtle patients out in the lagoon for swimming lessons to increase muscle strength, and we use our bespoke ocean enclosure to encourage deep diving and foraging behaviours during the final stages before release.
To help with diagnosis and subsequent treatments, we have recently started ultrasonography to evaluate the internal health of our patients.
Come to our Marine Discovery Centre to meet new turtle patients, Harry and Aayan, rescued from entanglement in drifting ghost nets.
Excitingly, we have our very first turtle nest of 2025, right here on the beach at Landaa, and some interesting updates on our growing groupers project.
Meanwhile, our coral experts have transplanted ~1500 new coral fragments to our Reefscapers artificial reefs.
It’s been a great month for dolphins! Large pods of Spinners swim around our atolls, putting on an exciting display during our dolphin-spotting excursions, as they follow our boat and leap from the waves, to the delight of everyone onboard.
