Appearance:
- Colonies form compact clumps
- Difference between branches and verrucae is indistinguishable
- Compact and thick branches in strong wave action
- Colonies more thin and open in sheltered environments
Colony size: Can be several metres across
Colour: Usually brown, pink or greenish
Similar species: Pocillopora danae has distinguishable verrucae and thicker branches
Habitat: A robust species that can be found in a wide range of habitats from exposed shallow reefs to mangroves and wharfs.
