Appearance:
- Most commonly semi-circular horizontal plates
- Horizontal branches evenly spaced
- Branchlets short and inclined, composed of one or more axial corallites
Colony size: Usually <1m across
Colour: Usually cream or pale blue, can be other colours.
Radial Corallites: Small, tubular and appressed (“pocket-like”)
Similar species: Acropora caroliniana has larger and more tapered axial corallites.
Habitat: Protected reef slopes and other environments
